Stuart Davenport – MD

Stuarts always had a keen interest in data protection, however, his interest became his passion when in the early 2000’s he bought his own domain name which made him truly aware of the issues surrounding data privacy, specifically spam.

Through setting up a catch-all email Stuart was able to tell the exact companies that were losing or selling his data. For example, if he received a spam email, the company that sold the data would appear in the wording of email address given. He was shocked by some of the massive companies that actually did this, we’re looking at you Starbucks and Argos! From there, Stuart developed a passion to ensure people were made aware of the issues around data protection as well as making sure companies protected themselves by being complaint with GDPR law. After years in the industry and now having completed his CIPP/e qualification, he’s got both the knowledge and experience to help.

In his spare time Stuart is a massive fan of his golf and boasts a handicap of 7. As well as this he also regularly plays football every Sunday on an 8 a side team and is also the loving Godfather to 4 children.

Herbie – Director of Physical Security/Head of Online Promotions

Herbie is Stuart’s loyal companion, as well as this he operates in a full-time role as The Compliance Consultancy’s Director of Physical Security and Head of Online Promotions. While, for security reasons, we can’t disclose exactly what his role is as a Director of Physical Security, we can state that the company would not be here without him. As Head of Online Promotions Herbie’s role is to think up limited offers for our customers as well as oversee the Compliance Consultancy’s referral scheme.

Stuart and Herbie met in 2013 years ago when he was found not to be the sheep herding type (Herbie puts this down to Sheep not looking like frisbees) when he was 9 months old and he had never lived in a house before. He’s eaten two iPhone screens, a remote control, knocked over & destroyed two of Stuart’s mums TV (Herbie says this is because there were animals about to jump through the screen and murder all inhabitants) but the two are inseparable and Herbie won’t let Stuart leave his side, he even has to go on holiday with him! In his spare time, Herbie loves 1980’s hip hop and Kung Fu movies. Herbie has also enjoyed his 15 seconds of fame, having been featured on an episode of James Cordon’s Carpool Karaoke (we’re not joking)!

Herbies’ passion for data protection came when he began receiving spam emails from various companies which were highly unusual as he doesn’t have an email or a computer. Because of this he never gives any personal data away and encourages others to do the same and he has also made it his personal mission to ensure all business owners are compliant with GDPR law.
